1973
REMAX is born. Gail and Dave Liniger, two real estate agents in their twenties from Denver, Colorado, decide to develop a new real estate concept. They create REMAX, an acronym for "Real Estate Maximums", a system that encourages quality real estate salespeople to realize and develop their outstanding business potential.
1978
On its 5th birthday,REMAX proudly launches its logo, the Hot Air Balloon, and has already 122 Offices and 1,180 Agents, in the USA and Canada.
1986
REMAX grows to 1,000 Offices and more than 10,000 Agents.
1995
REMAX goes global in South Africa and Europe, exceeding 40,000 Agents.
2004
REMAX surpasses 100,000 Agents.
“Everybody Wins: The Story and Lessons Behind REMAX” book is released.
2008
REMAX is in more than 75 countries.
2009
REMAX has now more than 7,000 independently owned offices, with over 100,000 agents in 85 countries worldwide.
2012
The familiar red, white and blue REMAX Hot Air Balloon can now be found in more than 85 countries around the world, marking an international presence greater than any real estate network.
2013
REMAX LLC marks 40 years of existence and wishes to bring together 10,000 brokers working worldwide during its International Convention in February.
2017
REMAX LLC revamps its brand image with new logos including a fully redesigned and streamlined hot air balloon, still a byword for excellence in real estate.

2023
REMAX turns 50! The milestone is celebrated during the largest REMAX R4® to date, where more than 9,000 affiliates from around the globe gather in Las Vegas. Erik Carlson becomes the CEO of REMAX Holdings, leading the Company and its brands into a future of innovation.
